back CRITERIA FOR EVALUATING PAPERS

 

Publication decisions are made based on the ability of a paper to meet the following criteria:

  • The paper is written at a level accessible to other undergraduate students.
  • It is concerned with an important research problem.
  • It describes the research problem clearly and persuasively.
  • It uses a theoretical framework that is apporpriate to the research problem.
  • It provides adequate supporting arguments, evidence, examples, and details.
  • It relates the principal findings back to the research problem.
  • It draws policy implications (if any) from the principal findings.
  • It is well organized and unified.
  • It uses appropriate, direct language.
  • It correctly acknowledges and documents sources.
  • It maintains a level of excellence throughout.
  • It shows originality and creativity in realizing (1) through (11).
