One of the most important changes for the Department of Economics this year is the establishment of the Department of Economics Advisory Board. Through the Board, the direction and decisions of the Department can benefit from the collective experience and insights of a broad range of constituents. Our exceptional group of Board Members include community, business and academic leaders who have all volunteered to advise the Department as we work together to advance our research, teaching and service objectives.
Congratulations to six distinguished alumni associated with the Department of Economics at Illinois State University: Scott Elliott, Senior Vice President and Director of Asset Allocation Strategies at Wellington Management Company LLP, Steven Graham, Director of Strategic Investments at Caterpillar Inc., Carl Kasten, Senior Partner of Carlinville law firm and Chairperson of the Board of Trustees for Illinois State University, Dr. James Koch, President Emeritus and Professor of Economics, Old Dominion University, Dr. John Matheson, Melvin C. Steen & Corporate Donors Professor of Law, University of Minnesota, and Dr. Virginia Lee Owen,, Emeritus Professor of Economics at Illinois State University. All have been named to the College of Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame for their professional accomplishments.
