The answer key for Homework 4 is on line! Enjoy.

7 June 2004

Scores on the multiple-choice part of Exam 4 were pretty grim. The class averaged only 11.77 questions correct out of 20 possible. Things went a little better on the written part, so the class average on the exam reached 61. That's still the lowest of the term, but at least it's in the C range.

I have posted Homework 4. I encourage you to work diligently on it because, for a lot of you, a few points could matter.

Welcome to the fast-forwarded version of Money and Banking. As you can imagine, we will be wasting no time moving through the complex world that is the U.S. monetary/financial system. In a mere four weeks - with one day off for a national holiday - we will cover the same material covered in a full fifteen-week semester. Don't expect a leisurely tour!

The schedule looks a bit odd: no exams in weeks 1 or 3, two exams in weeks 2 and 4. I think this is the best way to go about it, as odd as it seems. However, nothing is set in stone. If I determine that we need to alter the schedule in progress, I will.

Come prepared to work, but don't assume that this will be a horrible experience. Money and Banking isn't an easy course, but it's an interesting one. I hope you'll agree with that a month from now.
